News for the AWS October 2025 DOUBLE EVENT

Rebecca Snell October 23, 2025

October 2025 was a big month for Amputee Walking School. For the first time, there were two different events to choose from (one, or both!). One was the traditional event in Baltimore hosted by Dankmeyer and the University of Maryland Rehabilitation and Orthopaedic Institute (UM Rehab). The other was a new event on the Eastern Shore, hosted by Dankmeyer and the University of Maryland Shore Rehab at Cambridge.

The two events were very well attended, at both the daytime course for professionals and the evening session for those with lower limb loss/limb difference. Professionals attend the course from 1:30 pm - 7:00 pm. The topic is “Advanced Gait Training for Persons with Amputation.” This is followed by an evening session for those with lower limb loss/limb difference and their families. The evening session is always FREE. Dankmeyer sends a team of clinicians to assist evening activities. These evening sessions are for exercises and fellowship and are always enjoyed by everyone.
