One of the great services that our friends at the University of Maryland Rehabilitation and Orthopaedic Institute (UMROI) offer is support groups. The group that focuses on amputees and their families meets on the third Wednesday of each month from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm.
This allows amputees, their friends and families, and healthcare professionals a place for education and socializing. These meetings are free and the location has easy entrance.
At the April meeting, staff from Dankmeyer will be giving information on resources for those who have had amputations.
