n honor of Limb Loss & Limb Difference Awareness Month, the Downtown Sailing Center (DSC) is proud to highlight Access-Ability—their inclusive sailing program designed to ensure that individuals of all abilities can experience the freedom and empowerment of being on the water! Located in Baltimore, DSC excited to invite you to their Spring training session, perfect for new volunteers and seasoned sailors alike. This training is an excellent opportunity to brush up on skills and gain important knowledge about supporting our Adaptive Sailing programs.

This season kicks off with a Volunteer Training on April 11, equipping community members with the skills to support adaptive sailors in a safe, welcoming environment. Access-Ability Saturday Sailing begin May 2 and will run every other Saturday throughout the season, creating consistent opportunities for participants to build confidence, connection, and joy through sailing.

Registration for the May 2 session opens April 4 at downtownsailing.org/adaptivecalendar. Join us in celebrating resilience, expanding access, and making the water a place for everyone.

The April 11th session is the only dedicated Access-Ability training scheduled for 2026, making it an essential opportunity to learn, ask questions, and prepare for the season ahead. There is free onsite parking. Mobility and/or public transition is an option to access the sailing center. Life jackets are provided. Docks are wheelchair accessible and Hoyer lifts are available.
