The October 2026 Amputee Walking School is scheduled!
10/20/26 will have an education session only on the Eastern Shore: Advanced Gait Training for Individuals with Lower Extremity Amputations. This event will be at the University of Maryland Shore Rehab at Cambridge with Dankmeyer co-hosting.
10/21/26 Dankmeyer co-hosts with the University of Maryland Rehabilitation and Orthopaedic Institute (UM Rehab) in Baltimore. This session of Amputee Walking School features Advanced Gait Training for Individuals with Lower Extremity Amputations for professionals in the afternoon. This is followed by an evening session where those with lower limb loss/limb difference and their families come to work with the pros on various kinds of exercises.

IN MEMORIUM
We have some sad news to share. Dennis Oehler, co-founder of the Amputee Walking School, passed away earlier this August. Until recently, Dennis joined Todd in bringing the educational event to professionals and those with limb loss/limb difference - for us, this was 2-3 times a year for almost 15 years. They taught educational courses in the afternoon to professionals working with those with limb loss. That evening, they pushed and encouraged those with limb loss/limb difference as they supervised exercises designed to get participants moving with their prosthesis. There were a lot of laughs and some tears as the evening went on, but Dennis and Todd sent everyone away with a new sense of purpose. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends, and everyone who knew him, which is many of you.
Here is a gallery of some pictures of Dennis teaching at Amputee Walking School since 2014.
